2012 is a key year for China to implement the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan” and the new round of the development of Western China. The organizing committee will give full play to the role of the Western China International Fair (hereinafter referred to as “WCIF”) as the summit diplomatic platform, investment promotion platform, and trade cooperation platform to highlight “Western Cooperation”, “East-West Cooperation”, and “Sino-foreign Cooperation”, and seek advancement at a high level. The successful holding of the 13th WCIF is of great significance to promote the opening up and development of Western China and promote the sound and rapid economic development of Western China.

 

WCIF is guided by Deng Xiaoping Theory and the important thought of “Three Represents”, and thoroughly implements the scientific development concept and the Several Opinions on the Further Implement the Strategy of the development of Western China of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council, the spirit of the Fifth Plenary Session of the Seventeenth CPC Central Committee and the Central Economic Work Conference. The fair seizes the opportunities of the new round of the development of Western China and the major strategic opportunities of accelerating the transformation of economic development mode, and further highlights the concept of co-hosting, sharing and mutual benefits with the theme of “Leading International Cooperation and Expanding Market Space”. It focuses on internationalization, specialization, marketization, and the results of investment and trade, and strives to build the largest window and most important platform for the opening-up and development of Western China.

 

This year’s WCIF strives to achieve new breakthroughs in summit diplomacy, new results in investment promotion, and new achievements in trade cooperation. It will actively invite dignitaries from global advanced economies and emerging economies, and iconic figures of important international organizations to participate; actively undertake the transfer of domestic and foreign industries, and promote the successful signing of major investment projects; and actively promote the invitation of professional exhibitors, strengthen the matching of trade negotiations, and maximize the results of the trade.
