On July 15th, bureaus of economy and information technology of the four cities (Chengdu, Deyang, Meishan, and Ziyang) jointly signed a strategic cooperation agreement for promoting collaborative development of the electronic information industry of Chengdu Metropolitan Area at the “Forum on Collaborative Development of the Electronic Information Industry of Chengdu Metropolitan Area”, and the four sides reached cooperation in terms of policy planning, industrial support, technological innovation, and talent cultivation, etc. According to the head of the Office of Sichuan Province for Urban Integration, the electronic information industry, as the dominant industry of the four cities (Chengdu, Deyang, Meishan, and Ziyang), the pillar industry of Chengdu Metropolitan Area, and the core field of cooperation between Sichuan and Chongqing, included 2,134 electronic information enterprises above designated scale in statistics in 2020, and their operating revenue totaled CNY 1.044089 trillion and accounted for 82.3% of Sichuan Province’s total revenue. 

 

In light of the cooperation agreement, electronic information industries of the four cities will be developed in a “staggered and coordinated” manner. So far, Chengdu electronic information industry’s market size has exceeded CNY 1 trillion, leading to formation of a complete industrial chain ranging from material processing to application of intelligent terminals. Deyang City will foster the electronic information as a pillar industry, focus on the digital economy to promote the industry’s fast-rate development, and strive to cultivate four industrial ecosystems including industrial Internet, digital city, digital service, and information equipment manufacturing. Meishan City will focus its eyes on new-type display, integrated circuit, Big Data, electronic materials, and 5G, etc. Ziyang City’s electronic information industry is right staying at the inception phase, and more than 10 enterprises above designated scale in Ziyang, such as Golden Bright (Sichuan) Electronic Technology Co., Ltd., see favorable development trend and strong development potential.
