第十六届西博会于2016年11月3日至14日在成都成功举办，吸引了91个国家（地区）6万余名嘉宾客商、9027家企业参会参展，签约投资合作项目1008个，总投资额7876.85亿元。作为2016年中德之间规模最大的经贸交流活动之一，德国主宾国引起广泛关注，成为本届西博会重要亮点。
The 16th Western China International Fair (WCIF) was successfully held in Chengdu between November 3 and 14, attracting more than 60,000 guests, visitors and participants, and 9,027 exhibitors from 91 countries (regions). A total of RMB 787.685 billion was inked in 1,008 cooperation projects contracts. As one of the largest economic and trade exchange activities between China and Germany in 2016, the Guest of Honor Germany garnered widespread attention, and contributed substantially to the triumph of this WCIF.
作为本届西博会的主宾国，德国予以了西博会高度重视。德国副总理兼联邦经济和能源部长加布里尔亲率100多人的联邦政府代表团出席西博会，其中包括27位议员、政府和机构负责人，51位世界知名企业副总裁及以上级别高层及20位德国主流媒体的记者；此外，北威州、巴伐利亚州、汉堡市、德国工商大会等地方政府和机构也分别组团出席西博会。来蓉参会参展的德国政商代表团共计近500人。
As the Guest of Honor, Germany underscored great importance of the WCIF. German Vice Chancellor and Federal Minister of Economic Affairs and Energy Sigmar Gabriel headed a 100 mission comprising 27 Bundestag members, government and organization representatives, 51 presidents/vice-presidents of major companies and 20 mainstream journalists. Federal state of Nordrhein-Westfalen, city of Bavaria, city of Hamburg, and DIHK are among the delegations to WCIF, making the German contingent of nearly 500 members.
国务委员王勇、省委书记王东明和省长尹力分别会见了加布里尔，共同出席了“中德经济论坛”，双方就务实推进贸易和投资领域互利合作，加快中德创新产业合作平台和中德中小企业合作园建设等进行了深入交流，达成诸多共识。
Chinese State Councilor Wang Yong, Secretary of the Sichuan Provincial Party Committee Wang Dongming and Governor of Sichuan Province Yin Li met with Vice Chancellor Gabriel on separate occasions, and jointly attended the "China-Germany Economic Forum". The two sides engaged in extensive and pragmatic dialogues and exchanges, reached consensus on many agendas, such as promoting mutually beneficial collaborations in trade and investment, accelerating the establishment of China-Germany Innovative Industries Cooperation Platform and China-Germany Small and Medium Enterprises Cooperation Park.
本届西博会举办了“1 10”项主宾国活动。以“中德经济论坛”为主，配套举办中德经济论坛、国际应急产业发展论坛、中德会展业交流洽谈会、“德国之夜”招待会、智能制造—工业4.0中德论坛、巴伐利亚论坛、中德能效技术论坛、德国文化艺术活动、对德合作项目对接活动、汉堡论坛、中德生态农业论坛。活动丰富，涵盖多方内容，吸引参会嘉宾超过4000人次，企业间对接洽谈6000余次，极大地促进了川德务实经贸合作，达成众多合作意向。
The WCIF included 11 activities held in the name of the Guest of Honor, including, as supplements to China-Germany Economic Forum, 2016 China (Chengdu) International Emergency Industry Development Forum, China – Germany Convention & Exhibition Industries Conference, German Night, China – Germany Forum on Smart Manufacturing 2016 and Industry 4.0, The Bavaria Forum, China – Germany Forum on Energy Efficiency Technologies, Germany Cultural Exchange Activity, China – Germany Cooperation Project Matchmaking, The Hamburg Forum, and 2016 China – Germany Ecological Agriculture Forum. Drawing more than 4,000 visits and arranging successfully for 6,000 corporate-level trade talks, the colorful, multifaceted activities were a robust impact on practical bilateral economic & trade relations that made fruitful business matches.
德国国家馆展览面积达2040平方米，80多家德国企业和机构参展，行业涉及机械、化工、能源、环保、汽车、物流、生物科技、旅游、会展、招商引资等领域，展出宝马i8轿车和双轮电动摩托车、智慧出行、新型环保、空气滤化、农产品溯源、隧道掘进等新产品、新材料、新技术。德国展览精彩纷呈，吸引观众超过3万人次。国务委员王勇与加布里尔副总理共同为德国国家馆剪彩开幕。
Germany Pavilion covered 2,040 square meters and hosted more than 80 exhibitors, including the Federal Foreign Office of Germany (AA), Germany Trade & Invest (GTAI), NRW.INVEST, and Bayern International, along with leading companies in machinery, chemical engineering, energy, environmental protection, automobile, logistics, bio-tech, tourism and exhibition and convention industries such as BMW, Daimler, DHL, Evonik and Koeln Messe. An array of new products, new materials and new technologies were displayed, such as the BMW i8 sedan, e-Scooter, intelligent transportation, novel environmental protection technology, air filtration, agricultural products tracking system and tunneling machine.
加布里尔副总理、德国工商大会主席史伟哲、德国经济和能源部官员、汉诺威展览公司等德方参展参会嘉宾、企业、机构充分肯定西博会推动中德合作的平台作用，对西博会的专业性充分认可，希望借此契机，加深中德经贸合作，抓住中国西部地区崛起的重大机遇。中央电视台英语新闻频道、人民日报、光明日报、新华网、人民网、凤凰网、大公网等境内外媒体纷纷报道德国主宾国盛况，相关媒体表示德国主宾国活动必将助推川德合作走向深入，必将更好地推动中德创新产业合作平台的建设。
Vice Chancellor Sigmar Gabriel, DIHK President Dr. Eric Schweitzer, BMWi officials, Deutsche Messe executives and other VIP representatives from German enterprises and organizations commended WCIF as a “productive and professional” platform in promoting China-Germany cooperation and expressed hope to take the occasion to upgrade trade relations and take the opportunities of Western China’s development. Over Guest of Honor exhibition and activities, Germany made repeated headlines on domestic and international press, e.g. CCTV English Channel, People’s Daily, Guang Ming Daily, xinhuanet.com, people.cn, ifeng.com and takungpao.com.hk. The consensus was that the WCIF’s Guest of Honor arrangement would contribute to build on the deepening cooperation between Sichuan and Germany, in particular the construction of China-Germany Innovative Industries Cooperation Platform.
